Dr. B. K. Murthy

Dr. Murthy is an Evangelist in Emerging Technologies like AI/ML, Blockchain, Metaverse, Web 3.0 etc. He worked as CEO, Innovation and Technology Foundation, IIT Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, after working at the Ministry Electronics and IT (MeitY), Government of India for 35 years and took VRS as Senior Director (Scientist G) & Group Coordinator (R&D in IT and NKN). He is responsible for promotion of R&D in the area of IT; implementation of the Visvesvaraya PhD Fellowship scheme; National Knowledge Network, Quantum Computing, Digital India Infoway, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing and National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology.

Dr. Murthy served in the MeitY at various capacities dealing with Knowledge Based Computer Systems Development, Technology Development for Indian Language, e-Learning, National Knowledge Network, Manpower Development, Quantum Computing initiatives in the Country. He was heading the Software Industry Promotion during 2005-2007. He conceived Technology Innovation and Development Entrepreneurship Development, Information Security Education and Awareness Phase II, ICT Academy, Viswesvaraya PhD Fellowship and Young Faculty Research Fellowship programmes.

Dr. Murthy has been conferred with the prestigious VASVIK Industrial Research Award for the year 2020 in Information and Communication Technologies.

Dr. Murthy’s research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Meta Verse, Web 3.0, Cloud Computing, Quantum Computing and Blockchain Technologies. He has published and presented more than 80 papers in various journals and conferences. The citations of his publications has crossed 100 mark as Scopus indexed publications.
